July 14th, 1652 hrs

Just got a call from Bryan's father, Dennis, and Bryan has been released into the Navy's custody in Gulfport. He is out of jail and his CO and Chief came to pick him up and he sounded like he was in good spirits. He is on base and held with restrictions although no quite sure what yet. Bryan's phone is being kept by the police department as evidence from the night of the 4th so please do not try to call hoping to reach him now.

Bryan did mention to his father that he will being going to Pensacola for PTSD treatment of some sort and that he will "get the help he needed since 2004". I personally cannot stress enough the importance of managering ones time and well-being. If Katrina interupted his treatments in 2005, then it's important that he followed up as soon as possible

Someone during my military career once told me that if I didn't manage myself, then someone else would. Bryan has over 100 stitches in his hand from the gun shot wound and a bullet in his throat as a future reminder of the consequences of not being pro-active. Then again, things could have turned out much worse.
